The client gave the brief of a tropical holiday feel. The cheerful tropical colour palette was inspired by some turquoise and orange cushions in the adjacent casual living room. Custom bamboo-pattern glass above the cooktop and behind the open shelving unit. It's also incorporated into the backlit glass case that forms the base of the timber kitchen table. The same print on white is repeated on the living room wall, visually connecting the two spaces.

For the cabinetry, I chose a gloss lacquer in a soft turquoise for the taller cabinets. These tone nicely with the Corian benchtops.
