A stunning design and build by Front Porch Properties that transformed an old family home into a beautiful coastal farmhouse, featuring Millboard Enhanced Grain Smoked Oak decking.

A key requirement of the knockdown rebuild was a future-proof layout and beautiful robust finishes that would suit the family in the years to come. The priority was to have big bedrooms with plenty of storage, an alfresco area and a colour pallet that was modern and timeless.

Millboard Smoked Oak was the decking colour of choice for this beautiful home as it ticked all the boxes. The classic silver grey colour complementing the soft calming pallet of the home as it wrapped around the front porch and pool area.

The pool area is impressive which was a huge 10m x 6m pool allowing plenty of room for the family and friends to enjoy! Around the perimeter and flowing into the pool house was where the Millboard decking was used, being the safe choice with its high anti slip rating (P5).

The decking boards also provided a natural looking timber finish without the splinters or ongoing maintenance of real timber.

Millboard composite decking is hand-made in the United Kingdom & styled from real oak timbers, creating an incredibly realistic look that captures the natural beauty of wood. But unlike traditional timber – which needs regular ongoing maintenance like oiling & sanding to try and stave off rotting, mould, stains, warping, cupping, fading, splinters & a host of other undesirable effects – Millboard is completely different!

This is because unlike traditional timber, or even conventional composite decking WPC (which typically contains half-timber fibre/flours/rice husks & half plastic) – Millboard contains no timber, nor any plastic.

Millboard composite decking is made from a revolutionary Polyurethane resin, reinforced with mineral fibres plus a unique Lastane® coating. So what is Polyurethane then? It’s a type of elastomer, which is a polymer about halfway between a plastic and a rubber. It maintains the rigidity & longevity of plastic, with the suppleness of rubber. This means Millboard feels much more natural underfoot, while still offering incredible durability.
