Specialty Barn Style Door

For this contemporary Australian home, the homeowners wanted a garage door that blended classic barn-style charm with modern architectural design. The solution was a Steel-Line Flatline Sectional Door in Dulux China White, custom cladded by the builder with a criss-cross cedar detail to create a unique, eye-catching feature. The door was designed to be a standout feature of the façade, while still delivering durability, and low-maintenance operation suitable for Australian conditions. Design & Materials Steel-Line Garage Door: Flatline textured door for warmth and depth Finish: Dulux China White for a clean, modern look Cladding: Builder-applied criss-cross cedar battens for a bespoke timber accent pattern Design Goal: Marry traditional barn-style elements with contemporary residential architecture The combination of steel and natural timber creates visual contrast and tactile appeal, with the white finish highlighting the cedar pattern as a sophisticated design element. Engineering & Functionality Performance was just as important as aesthetics: High-quality Steel-Line Sectional Garage Door for smooth, quiet operation Durable, weather-resistant steel core, engineered to withstand Australian climates Integrated sectional tracks ensuring the custom cedar cladding does not interfere with operation The builder’s cladding was carefully installed to maintain both mechanical integrity and visual design, ensuring the door operates flawlessly while making a strong architectural statement. This project demonstrates how Steel-Line doors can be tailored to personal style while maintaining the high performance and reliability Australian homeowners expect.
