EST Lighting was founded by trio Ted Smyth, Sevan Mirzaian and James Zagari with a passion for contemporary architectural and decorative lighting. The Australian brand offers practical lighting tools with thoughtfully selected decorative pieces proudly representing some of the world’s leading international lighting manufacturers including pieces from Australia’s top lighting designers.

Sharing over 15 years experience, this agile team are fast becoming a dominant player in the lighting market, offering a curated mix of both; architectural and decorative lighting products. With the thoughtfully designed Sydney showroom proving a success it was only natural to continue this momentum with a showroom in Melbourne.

Christopher Elliott Design was engaged to complete the interior fitout of the Richmond-based location.  A major source of inspiration came from witnessing the way light interacted with curved surfaces. This became the foundation for the design with the formation of curved walls and partitioning.

Materials were selected to interplay with light. The sophisticated colour palette of blush, nude and contrasting rich blue and burgundy tones provide a warmth to the space while being further defined by black metal, timber and stone details.

Floor to ceiling s-fold curtains designed and supplied by Esenar in Zepel Allusion  flank the meeting room and juxtapose beautifully with the industrial elements celebrating the effect of light within space. The considered yet laid back design of the experience-led showroom has been successful, resulting in an elegant space to showcase the impressive range of brands as well as a place to bring industry together, hold events and entertain.
