A finalist in the International Dulux Colour Awards, this French Crêperie & Café in Auckland features authentic decor inspired by traditional French cafés, complemented by a curated selection of antique French newspapers and a European ambiance.
This project was a finalist in the International Dulux Colour Awards – Commercial Interior.
The Crêperie is in an historic block of shops in upper Queen Street Auckland. The owner specifically requested traditional French Café decor, and not a contemporary modern interpretation. Donna visited all of the French cafés and restaurants in Auckland to ensure that her design was unique to the competition.
The chosen colours and fabrics were then incorporated into the menu, shop sign, business cards and all advertising material. The walls are hung with quality colour copies from the owner’s extensive collection of antique French newspapers and magazines. French-accented waiter staff and music perpetuate the European ambiance generated by the décor.
