Gipps Street Recreational Precinct

The Gipps Street Recreation Precinct is a landmark sport and recreation hub that exemplifies sustainable development on former landfill sites. Located in Claremont Meadows, within the Penrith local government area, the project showcases Glascott Landscape and Civil’s expertise in complex, large-scale public infrastructure projects.
Over a two-year period, Glascott transformed the 32-hectare site into a district-level facility offering diverse recreational opportunities. They overcame significant challenges, including managing substantial landfill depths and adhering to stringent environmental and remediation standards. Through meticulous planning, solution-driven practices, and rigorous project management, the project was delivered to the highest quality.
The grand opening on 31st August 2024 drew over 7,000 attendees and was featured on Channel 9 and Channel 7’s 6 pm news.

Matthew’s dad, Joseph Glascott, was the first Environment Writer for Sydney Morning Herald and reported on Australia’s biggest environmental issues in the 1970s & 1980s.
Matthew is passionate about the environment and dedicated to his vision of creating quality open spaces that leave a lasting legacy.
