Kopikopiko Bar was placed Runner Up in two categories at 2022 Master Joiners Awards in Blenheim in 2022.
This client embarked on a major renovation of their bar/café area of their luxury retirement and aged care residence. The brief for this project was to create an inviting, light and warm space for residents to gather and socialise.
This stunning leathered and curved granite benchtop has a custom made granite door to close the bar area off from the residents.
American White Oak overhead shelving and wall linings complement the herringbone pattern flooring and the natural living plant wall brings touches of green life to this space.
The hidden door clashed with natural veneer enters the back of house commercial kitchen and keeps it hidden from view of the residents.
LED interchangeable lighting on the back wall brings colour to the space and allows staff to select their preferred colour. The LED lighting on the overhead cabinetry helps to accentuate the curves of this project.

Craftsman Cabinets was established in 2018 and has quickly built a reputation for designing, manufacturing and installing high-quality bespoke kitchens, bathrooms, offices, laundries and other home and workspaces.
Director and craftsman, Jason Michie, is a fully qualified Cabinet & Furniture Maker with over 10 years of passion and experience. Craftsman Cabinets is 100% New Zealand owned and operated from a workshop based in Patumahoe, Auckland – which is also undergoing construction.
Along the way, we’ve learned a lot about building and constructing bespoke designs for our clients which is why we developed our Craftsman Design Process. This highlights how we work closely with local designers and architects to construct personalised projects with a client’s unique style in mind.
All aspects of the process are handled by Jason thanks to his dedication to quality and strategic partnerships with design experts. This is how quality craftsmanship is maintained and Jason ensures the best available materials are used on each project.
