Matatoki Stone Project features a unique combination of traditional 150mm stonework and lightweight 40mm stone veneer, allowing for creative architectural designs while maintaining structural integrity and efficiency in space usage.
Matatoki stone comes from the Thames area in the North Island and is a very hard wearing versatile stone. It can be cut into any shaped or form the mason requires.
This project we have used both 150mm traditional stone work with a 40mm vented cavity and 40mm sawn down light weight stone veneer with a 20mm cavity, creating a seamless blend of the two systems and allowing the Architects to be more creative without concerns of weight or taking up space.
