Imagine having the opportunity to create a space that reflects your company's values and inspires your team to reach new heights. That's exactly what Maycroft Construction achieved with their new headquarters in Gear St, Petone. After years of building and refurbishing office spaces for clients, Maycroft finally had the chance to design a workspace that truly embodies their expertise and innovation.
Latitude Lighting is honoured to have worked alongside Designgroup Stapleton Elliott and installation experts, Hard Wired Electrical, to deliver a purpose-built, bright, versatile and inviting work space for the Maycroft team.

The Brief
The project brief called for a space that reflected Maycroft's relaxed and friendly, yet professional, approach towards work.
On the ground floor, the meeting spaces and breakout area needed to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged collaboration and creativity. The first floor, the core working space, needed to be quiet with minimal recessing into the ceiling, and remain versatile for future expansion.
From Dream to Reality
The entry way and ground floor, designated for meeting spaces and a relaxed breakout area, required careful consideration to create the right tone and feel. Latitude Lighting took inspiration from recent Ambience Lighting fitouts and utilised the Andro Track Mount and the Perene Suspended to enhance and add warmth to the space.
After numerous lighting models and calculations, the LH70 Suspended Direct/Indirect lighting fixture was agreed upon as the perfect solution for the first floor.
It provided great light levels, low glare, easy installation, and seamlessly blended with the overall look and feel of the office space.
One of the standout elements upstairs is the collaboration area, which utilises Acustico's Medium Opera in Steel Blue, to not only add visual interest, but also to soften the acoustics in the space.
The result is a space that's great to look at, and functional and practical for collaborative work.
To bring DGSE’s vision to life within the bounds of the project budget, careful consideration to product selection was necessary. Among the fixtures specified were Normalit Elit downlights, Luzerna Avant panels, Hermetic Line M battens and Tecsoled TSL S15 profiles - all of which met both design and budget constraints.
