A vibrant MCM-inspired home in Christchurch, blending mid-century modern aesthetics with warm timber elements and abundant natural light, creating a joyful living space that pays homage to the architectural charm of the 1950s.
Reminiscent of the mid century modern homes in the Californian hills in the 1950's, this MCM inspired home is perched on a hillside in Christchurch, overlooking the city.
The aesthetic of the home, both externally and internally, is strongly influenced by our clients love of this wonderful period of architecture. It is colourful and full of warmth, with light flooding the spaces.
Timber is used throughout, structurally as well as for exterior cladding and internal linings.
Patterns are explored through wallpapers, tiles, and through shadows over exposed structure and fixtures.
This is a home that is a joy to be in.
