Nestled into a uniquely secluded site, Mosman takes advantage of its isolation and sees the home sit in contrast to the surrounding landscape. Using the local and classic sandstone found in the area, the material is reinterpreted through a modern lens where rectilinear forms intersect on site. Blurring the lines between inside and out, operable elements deliberately fall away from view, and minimally framed glazing ensures uninterrupted sightlines from within.
An expressive use of viola calacatta marble together with stone underfoot comes together with polished plaster on both vertical and horizontal surfaces, to create moments of curiosity and delicate movement. The resulting home has an embodied lightness.
