Luna Chiaro Limestone and Silhouette Grey Granite define outdoor living spaces across three levels
Luna Chiaro Limestone and Silhouette Grey Granite were specified for this three-storey Mosman residence by hecticrAt architects. The limestone creates visual continuity across the entry, terraces and outdoor living areas. Silhouette Grey Granite Cobblestones are used in the driveway. The project was shortlisted for the Mosman Design Awards.
- Building style
- Contemporary
Set on a steep Mosman site, this award-shortlisted family residence balances French Provincial influences with contemporary architectural planning. Designed by hecticrAt architects, the three-storey home transforms a challenging site into a refined and highly functional family sanctuary with a strong connection to outdoor living.
Design Approach
The design responds thoughtfully to the site’s natural slope, using split levels to create visual interest while accommodating practical family spaces. Carefully planned internal layouts allow areas to feel connected yet distinct, supporting both shared living and private retreat within the home.
Material Selection
Natural stone plays a defining role throughout the project. Luna Chiaro Limestone was specified across the entry, terraces and outdoor living areas, creating a light, cohesive foundation that enhances connection between spaces. Silhouette Grey Granite Cobblestones add subtle texture and structure, defining circulation paths within the landscape while complementing the limestone palette.
The project was shortlisted for the Mosman Design Awards, recognising its considered response to site constraints, materiality and architectural planning.
