iO lighting by Maker Design Studio beautifully complements the cedar inside panelling of this stunning beach home. The project was designed by Brendon Gordon Architects. The client chose two iO long pendants 280mmm by 600mm long for the landing at the top of the staircase and a custom 1-metre long pendant for the high ceiling space in the entry. They selected a 600mm by 300m iO Drum for over the dining table.

The iO lighting range really set off a beachy but modern and contemporarily designed feel to this home. The brief was to supply some of our standard and custom size lighting to set off this home.

The client benefits from feature lighting that fits with the feel of the home and lasts the duration.

Maker Design Studio is the home of iO lighting. Working in wood, MAKER’s Mat Macmillan developed the iO range to deliver a product of lasting beauty and originality.

Our lights are crafted in Tauranga. Each one is created by hand using natural materials. Stunning alone, or grouped into clusters for impact. You can choose from a variety of standard sizes – or talk to us about a custom size to suit your particular space. Our iO lights are suitable for commercial as well as residential settings and are featured in a wide range of public and private buildings including commercial headquarters, embassies, hotels, conference centres etc. Many of the homes they are in are featured in magazines as winners of Home of the Year competitions.

iO lights bring simple, calm beauty to any setting, emitting a warm glow while adding substance as a beautifully designed object. Made using premium NZ ply sourced from locally grown trees, iO is a thoroughly sustainable New Zealand product.

We are proud to be NZ designed and made and are delighted to be able to have the NZ made logo on our packaging. You can follow our journey on Facebook and Instagram.
