NBA Store Sydney

NBA Sydney is located at 5 Martin Place, Sydney and is only the 2nd store in Australia. Calida was engaged by LIDS Australia on an ECI process to coordinate all parts of the project from its early introduction in the development application stage.

Calida managed the construction certificate application, from all design development and fit out of the project all the way through to the completion. It was completed in 8 weeks on-site with a 12 week lead due to the approval process early on, this was beneficial for Calida as all structural steel and joinery were largely procured upfront to reduce time on-site.
The self-supporting structure was engineered by using a “counterweight” concept due to the heritage constraints of the building. No fixings into the walls, ceilings or walls were possible as all elements are heritage listed, Calida found this the most challenging part of the project but it was executed to a satisfactory standard.
