Foodstuffs’ Marton New World was planned to be a larger store, to offer more variety and options for the Marton residents. Described as “a well-designed and extremely pleasant environment to shop in”, Marton New World is a real asset to the township. The external materials chosen provide texture and ensure the broad surfaces contrast each other through the use of pattern and colour, thus highlighting different areas of the building. The external use of brick and timber ensures the design fits into the residential town. Internally, the design is clean and spacious to tie in with today’s shopping expectations of efficiency, variety, and order.
