A statement kitchen renovation that brings the outdoors in.

The client initially wanted a black kitchen in a space that lacked natural light, with seating for four, an open plan, more benchtop space, space for small appliances, and cookbooks. However, the existing space did not allow for these requirements to be met, and there was no access to the outside from the casual seating area.

To address these issues, it was suggested to move the kitchen to an underutilized space and extending out the existing wall, creating access to the outside and a second deck for entertaining. Sliding doors were designed to open up the pantry while in use, and an oven tower was created to house the oven and microwave, freeing up storage space in the pantry. A spice drawer and oil pullout were also located between the oven and cooktop for convenience.

To add warmth to the space, pendant lighting and warm LED lighting were put forward to the client, this accentuated the Taj Mahal benchtops, splashback, and woodgrain cabinetry. These changes not only met the client's needs but also transformed the kitchen into a warm, functional and inviting space that serves as a statement piece in the home. With the kitchen design overcoming space constraints, it's a perfect example of how effective design can enhance a living space.
