Additions and New.

The client purchased an unfinished masonry blockhouse some years ago, which had been hastily sold by a developer. The house itself was well designed but needed to connect to the site, had no garaging and its kitchen was very basic. A cedar pergola along the northern side, along with an outdoor fire, some privacy block walls and landscaping were undertaken. This enabled the client to both have some shade in their double height northern living area, and somewhere to barbeque when the weather was less pleasant. A new front entry porch and wood store to the south were constructed, again using cedar and designed to visually link and form an integral part of the existing blockhouse. A triple car garage and workshop were also added on site.

The existing kitchen was gutted, with the timber top from the original island being resurfaced and reused. A scullery was formed from a storeroom adjacent to the kitchen and this too was fitted out. Then the entire living area was given a new colour scheme and fabrics chosen for window seats and furnishings.
