Passivhaus Plus Residence

Designed as a forever home, this exceptional Passivhaus Plus residence balances timeless architecture with industry-leading sustainability. Created to support its owners through every stage of life, the single-level home seamlessly combines accessibility, comfort and refined contemporary living.

Drawing inspiration from Japanese architecture, the home features soaring four-metre ceilings, expansive triple-glazed glazing, and a restrained palette of European oak, birch plywood, cork flooring and natural stone.

Thoughtfully crafted entertaining spaces flow effortlessly to tranquil courtyards, creating a seamless connection between indoors and out while filling the home with natural light.

Constructed to the highest standards of passive design, the home incorporates continuous high-performance insulation, airtight construction, a Zehnder heat recovery ventilation system, a 19.8kW solar system with battery storage, rainwater harvesting and energy-efficient heat pump technology. These carefully integrated systems work together to provide exceptional thermal comfort, outstanding energy efficiency and a healthy indoor environment maintained at a consistent 21°C throughout the year.

The home achieved an impressive 7.9-star NatHERS energy rating and was independently certified to the rigorous Passivhaus Plus standard. With an outstanding airtightness result of just 0.1 air changes per hour—well exceeding the Passivhaus requirement of 0.6—it ranks among Australia’s highest-performing residential homes.

A testament to meticulous craftsmanship, collaborative design and technical excellence, this home demonstrates how beautiful architecture and high-performance building can exist in perfect harmony, delivering a residence designed to endure for generations.
