Originally, we set out to tackle a major home overhaul, but as we got into the nitty-gritty of pricing, based on a quantity survey report, we were able to tweak a few things and focus on the kitchen, dining area, deck, main bathroom, and ensuite.

One of the big challenges in reshaping the kitchen and dining was wrestling with a beam that hogged the limelight. It sat low in the middle of the room, blocking the view and cramping the style. Our goal? Give the space a modern facelift and make it feel more spacious and up-to-date.

We put a ton of elbow grease into making sure that beam didn't steal the show. Elevating it was the name of the game, and if you check out the hallway shots, you'll now see a clear path from the front door to the back. A complete home-changer.

Velux Skylights were added to amp up the kitchen's natural light, and kept the heritage feel alive with some custom joinery for the doors, paying homage to the home's 120-year history.

The kitchen island became the star of the show. Getting the details just right, especially in seamlessly connecting it to the floor, was a bit of a dance. We had our fair share of challenges, like waving goodbye to a fridge wall and figuring out the best door placements.

On the deck we added stairs that let you walk down either side. To keep things up to code – and without ruining the view –we strategically placed a planter.

Lisa and David's vision for a modern, open, and airy space steered the ship for this project, and we worked seamlessly together with interior designer Sarah Foote Design to made sure the final result was a true reflection of their lifestyle and taste.
