Punawai
Punawai is the latest addition to Kristin School, a new modern music studio designed to inspire student creativity. At the heart of the building is a central atrium, lit by a circular skylight, which serves as a hub for students to collaborate. Sustainability is a key focus of the design, featuring a living roof, repurposed materials, and advanced insulation techniques.
The name “Punawai,” selected by kaumātua Kereama Nathan, symbolises a wellspring of musical knowledge.
Kwanto played a crucial role in the development of Punawai by providing quantity surveying and project management services, ensuring the project was completed on time and within budget.
