PROJECT OVERVIEW
Objectives
Assist with the electrical installation and commissioning of New Zealand’s first Resomation aquamation system at Bell, Lamb & Trotter & Christchurch Water Crematorium.
Challenges
• Integrating brand-new international technology into an existing facility
• Coordinating with the primary suppliers to ensure correct wiring and system functionality
• Navigating unique system requirements and safety compliance for a new technology

Solution
Our electrical team worked closely with the suppliers and the Bell, Lamb & Trotter team to safely wire in the aquamation machine, performing detailed troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation. While we did not design or build the core system, our role was critical in integrating the machine into the building’s infrastructure.
Results
The aquamation system is now fully operational, offering New Zealand families a revolutionary, dignified, and environmentally responsible option for farewells. Using up to 90% less energy than traditional flame cremation and producing no harmful emissions, this innovative process represents the future of eco-conscious aftercare.
We’re proud to have played a role in helping bring this groundbreaking technology to New Zealand. It’s incredibly rewarding to support projects that combine innovation, care for families, and environmental responsibility.
