A welcoming civic space where European Oak veneer brings warmth, acoustic comfort and natural character to the library and art gallery.
Look up and the ceiling immediately draws you in. More than 500 custom acoustic panels were supplied to create this striking architectural feature at Te Kahu o Waipuna – Marlborough Library & Art Gallery.
Manufactured from 12 mm Black Firesafe MDF with crown-cut European Oak veneer, HR713CF hole perforations and a clear Ultimatte finish, the panels introduce natural warmth, visual rhythm and acoustic control throughout the expansive public interior.
The feature ceiling helps shape a welcoming environment that brings library, gallery, learning and community spaces together within this important civic destination for Marlborough.
"It is of course the library and the art gallery but it's a living space, it's a children's space, it's an all ages space and it's a future technology space and that's what the people of Marlborough wanted." Mayor Nadine Taylor
