Inspiring furniture made from Supalam HPL at the custom space.

The Custom Space is a renowned joiner, designer and spray painter in Nelson, who’s collective and imaginative thinking have come up with some fantastic ideas using our products. Featured here is our Supalam Carcass Grey HPL product made from (amazingly) offcuts off the factory floor.

SupaLam is a hard-wearing HPL carcass plywood which is an excellent alternative to MDF-based panels. This HPL plywood (in white, black or grey), provides an exceptional durable surface while a hardwood ply core provides greater strength. Hard wearing, cost-effective and easy to clean, this product has a light embossed finish to give a bit of texture. Uses are for Kitchen and Laundry carcass work, shelving and storage, vehicle fit-out interiors and commercial areas.

Jack and Meg Wells, owners of The Custom Space have been thinking of ways to help minimise product wastage in the industry. And these beautiful and bespoke pieces of furniture are thoughtful ways of using the offcuts from the sheets of plywood they are already using on other projects.

The chairs come in three shades, grey (as featured), black and natural birch. A stunning, eco-friendly and super comfortable alternative to the standard ply chairs available to purchase currently. Using the edges of the plywood show the core grain detail that is visually stunning.

We can’t wait to see what inspiring furniture The Custom Space will conjure up next!
