Design Partnership has beautifully infused The Meat & Wine Co Barangaroo with an African-inspired steakhouse concept that celebrates both African heritage and Australian surroundings. Our design concept embraces the richness of various cultures, traditional architecture, pattern making, and a touch of romance and nostalgia. We have thoughtfully incorporated warm leather textures and exquisite wood detailing to create a modern and inviting space, all against the breathtaking backdrop of Sydney Harbour. The floor-to-ceiling windows not only flood the restaurant with natural light but also provide captivating views of the water, enhancing the dining experience.
We drew inspiration from the spirit of Ubuntu, emphasizing the values of giving and sharing, which are reflected in the menu and overall ambiance. To cater to different group sizes and preferences, the layout includes intimate dining areas as well as larger spaces, such as our interpretation of a "Boma," where guests can gather for memorable shared experiences. The Meat & Wine Co Barangaroo is a testament to our dedication to merging African influences with contemporary design, resulting in a truly unique and inviting restaurant experience.

We have done so for almost 30 years and in this time we have learned a tremendous amount about how people behave naturally and instinctively within these social environments. We have learned the hard way that in order to design successful venues, we needed to place predictive human behaviour at the heart of what we do. We capture succinctly how most people behave most of the time in order to design spaces for the most joy and ultimately the most success. This assists us in capturing the spirit of place.
