Profile
University of Waikato – Law and Management Faculty banner

The University of Waikato required a modern law faculty to be designed, linking this with the existing management faculty, reflecting the local cultural identity within the Waikato Region.  To provide future proofed, transparent flexible spaces and shared teaching spaces.

The striking office tower is naturally ventilated without need for air conditioning.   The tower and the shared teaching spaces comprise cutting edge technology and ultramodern materials, with a high degree of transparency and adaptability. The design references the rectilinear nature of both the Student Centre and the Performing Arts Centre, thereby helping to create a timeless vernacular across the campus.

The ceremonial staircase creates a journey illustrating the 50-year history of the University of Waikato. The Moot Court, is a fully functional courtroom with demountable fittings, enabling the space to be used for other purposes when not set up as a courtroom.
