The generous ceiling height and raw material textures in this recently completed building allowed us to play with scale and materials in a way more traditional interiors might not allow in this Grey Lynn apartment.
For our client we added wool/hemp blended drapery and linen sheers which accentuated the simplicity of the surfaces but softened them at the same time. We furnished the . dining area with a warm oak bespoke table and matching long bench seat. Around this we added a set of Plank moulded plywood and wool chairs and sat them all on a pure wool custom designed rug. The Kartell Smartwood wing chair helped to bring contrast within the material palette.
The sculptural forms of the furnishings bring a balance against the rawness of the walls, drapery and floors. Lighting and accessories with a slight industrial aesthetic by Normann Copenhagen complete the areas by adding touches of refinement against this rawness.
