This was a large scale new build on Waiheke Island. The client wanted a floating island with the overall kitchen having a European influence and to be handle less (all cupboards and draws are electric opening). The entire island is thermo-formed Corian with LED back lighting, which at night provides the illusion of a floating island. To the right of the kitchen is the scullery which all the cabinetry and bench tops are made out of highly polished stainless steel. It also houses most of the kitchen appliances. Left of the kitchen is the wine room which is is in a light Zebrano veneer to match the kitchen, with stainless steel pins to hold the wine.
This project was overall winner in the 2014 Society of British Interior Designer Awards in the KBB category.
