How far is too far away? In this case our clients with whom we had worked with previously on their holiday home refurbishment, could not imagine anyone else building their full time residence on Waiheke Island just north of Auckland. After much time spent working closely with the clients and designer to finalise the details of the house design and construction  we saw the challenge and agreed to devise a plan to somehow build their home for them from our base in Waikanae.

Logistically this was a vast undertaking for us for many reasons: supplier/sub-contractor relationships, accessibility, labour force and transport costs.

We decided the best way forward was to relocate staff to live on the Island. We also had to carefully contract local trades, swiftly build relationships with them and continuously work with them to ensure seamless productivity and timeline management.

The end result was a one of a kind home that the clients are in awe of. Another resounding success.
