Wellington Regional Children's Hospital

The Wellington Regional Children's Hospital completed in early 2022, was officially handed over to the Capital & Coast District Health Board on March 31 by philanthropists Mark Dunajtschik and Dorothy Spotswood.

In 2009 Thermosash did the total clad for The BNZ Harbour Quay in Wellington. In 2016 the building was damaged in the Kaikoura earthquake, however, the facade could be re-used and some of the unitised facade was removed to be upcylced and re-installed on the new Wellington Children’s Hospital. Thermosash also installed new PW1000 UnitisedTM High Performance Curtainwall with integrated solar shading, and aluminium sheet rainscreen cladding, including on the connecting footbridge.

In keeping with the child friendly design of the building the frit pattern on the Keramo Glass in the unitised curtainwall panels includes small images specifically to amuse children, and the fins are brightly coloured Vanceva glass.
