The making of our My-Chef oven.
Our My Chef wood fired gourmet oven's unique design consists of  a double walled dome in 2mm punched stainless steel.
It has a structured powder coated finish so it is really easy to keep it looking good, no need to polish as you would have to with bare stainless steel, and no cracking!
In between the double domes is a triple layer of commercial grade insulation blanket!
And even the oven door is double walled and insulated. The oven floor is insulated with 40mm high density fibreboard ensuring the heat stays in the oven.
The oven floor itself is in refractory tiles to withstand high temperatures.
The very high grade insulation of the oven dome and floor make this oven ideal for slow cooking as it retains the heat for a long time. So after for example a pizza lunch or pizza night you can slow-cook a nice pulled pork or a curry or home made bread in the remaining heat.
The other attractive asset is its fast heat up time. The stainless steel dome instead of brick dome and the quality of the materials used, allow for a heat up time of only around 20-25 minutes for roasting and cooking and around 30 minutes for pizza at 350°C.
And because of its design and the triple commercial grade insulation, it is very economical in wood use.

And the extra insulated oven floor ensures that the heat stays in the oven floor tiles, which is a must to get a really nice and crispy pizza crust instead of a chewy crust.
And of course My-Chef also cooks perfect roasts, vegetables, beautiful slow cooked meats and many other recipes, and not to forget genuine home made bread.

Giuseppe is originally from Salento, Italy, and food is an important part of the lifestyle. It is all about sharing and caring when friends and family catch up around the table.

Giuseppe's story:

"Being Italian, good food is important to me. My passion for wood-fired cooking comes from my childhood memories, we had a wood-fired oven in the backyard where my mother would bake the bread and then put a pignata or meat or soup to slow cook in the retained heat. I guess that is why I know exactly what I want from a wood-fired oven. I am very specific about how an oven should perform. "
