A mere three-minute walk away from New Zealand’s busiest transit station sits an iconic stone tower, 125 Queen St. The building hosts an extraordinary octagonal floorplate and with its historic character is home to many well-known brands.
Cachet Group were engaged to design and construct contemporary speculative suites for Levels 9 and 11. The north facing floorplate provided unique opportunities to create a thoughtful yet pragmatic design solution that complements the limited natural light of these areas.
In developing a unique design, Cachet looked to emulate the grandeur of dark high-tower spaces in the commercial world; the design ultimately rivalling the richness of a hospitality / hotel atmosphere.
Whilst workstations sit under a bright suspended ceiling promoting productivity, the remaining areas were purposefully contrasting; an industrial shell paired with natural elements creating a very distinctive finish. The black aluminium joinery, exposed ceilings and concrete flooring married with the timber screens, planting, and natural toned colours compellingly create a space that is rich, calm, and inviting.

“…the Cachet team were very intuitive in their speculative suite design for 125 Queen Street – with an intent to not only create a great space but create leasable spaces ready for the post pandemic market. The project was delivered to a high quality, with a design that was desirable and suited to a range of tenants. 2 of the 3 spaces were successfully leased prior or within one month of completion, and we have significant interest in the remaining tenancy. Thanks to the Cachet team for their responsive and pragmatic approach to this successful project partnership”
