A contemporary interpretation of the Native North American Cook House, completed in 2013 in Darfield, Canterbury, and recognized as the National Winner in the Designing with Glass category at the GANZ 2013 Glass Industry Awards.
Darfield - Canterbury, 2013.
A modern take on the Native North American "Cook House", this crafted gable-formed structure was designed in conjunction with the overall landscape design by Henry Blakely Landscapes. Views to the Southern Alps and the surrounding garden are maximised with the use of glass for 70 per cent of the walls. Frameless glass sliders stack internally creating an open pavilion in the summer months and permit enough air flow when closed in the winter months for the wood-fired BBQ to work its magic!
