Reconnecting people with the space

At ANZ Tower, GreenAir developed a comprehensive interior and exterior planting strategy designed to reconnect people with the built environment and transform the spatial experience of the site. The scale and materiality of the building - characterised by extensive tiled surfaces - called for planting on a significant level to introduce warmth, texture and a more human-centred atmosphere.

Externally, planting was carefully positioned to establish moments of pause within the urban setting. Seating integrated alongside lush greenery creates inviting destinations that encourage people to remain in the space, fostering a stronger connection between occupants, visitors and the surrounding environment. These landscaped interventions reshape circulation patterns, shifting the space from a transitional thoroughfare to a place of engagement and rest.

A curated palette of native and non-native species was selected to deliver both ecological richness and sensory interest. Flowering foliage introduces seasonal variation, while layered planting compositions provide depth, colour and movement throughout the year. Internally, greenery softens architectural lines and enhances the overall experience of arrival and occupation.

The project demonstrates how strategic biophilic design can elevate large-scale commercial environments — improving spatial quality, supporting wellbeing and reinforcing the role of living systems as an integral component of contemporary workplace infrastructure.
