Gathering areas, open work spaces and sleek modern design are signatures of this Toyota office in Auckland.

Buchan’s redesign of the commercial office space, based above the sale yard, focused on creating a modern high quality, open plan layout. The aim is to complement the quality of the business and its well-known brand. But, also to make it welcoming for both employees and clients by pushing the boundaries of standard office designs and colour scheming.

Achieving the client brief of an open plan layout, the space allows flexibility through the use of custom designed moveable timber screens. Their openness also allows for unrestricted team communication along with a café style dining space for team work and informal meetings.

The commercial space now has a ‘modern industrial’ feel with a contemporary stripped back approach. A fresh black and white colour palette contrasts such that bespoke furniture can feature within the space. Natural timbers and evergreen indoor plants add warmth and texture which give a fresh feeling. Full use of the full length north facing windows with natural light flood the working areas.
