Aussie Coastal Reno

Have you spent hours upon hours, year after year, painting or staining timber windows to bring them back to their former glory? Or is that job still on the to-do list? Killcare residents Jarrod and Megan Rose have been there and done that. That is why for their latest home renovation they opted for aluminium windows finished in the natural looking DecoWood® finish. Jarrod was adamant that he would never again spend another weekend re-staining another timber window; and Megan insisted their new Aussie Coastal inspired renovation needed the quintessential timber frames as specified by their architect. In stepped DecoWood®. DecoWood® finished windows and doors were the obvious solution for the Roses. Located just metres away from the ocean and in the thick of the central coast bushland, the UV-resistant and marine grade finish was simply a no brainer. “Timber just isn’t up to the job in this environment. And DecoWood is almost like second to none. It's durable even more than standard aluminium.” says homeowner Jarrod. Megan chose DecoWood® Curly Birch for the window frames and doors throughout her home, blending perfectly with the homes interior timber floor and furnishing selections. The sensational ocean views are framed superbly by the oversized windows by Sublime Windows, and the DecoWood® finished Breezway louvers add the finishing touch, allowing the ocean breeze to filter though the home. Megan says she would recommend DecoWood to anyone and everyone. “I know that it's going to be up to the game to withstand what this environment can throw at it. I was adamant that I wanted timber windows and Jared was adamant that he wasn't going to go through the maintenance of timber windows again. So this has been a really nice compromise.” This Aussie Coastal makeover is a perfect example of finding the right solution to suit not only the environment but also the people who will be enjoying this home for many years to come (without ever staining a timber window again!)
