HAAUS 6 showcases how DECO’s aluminium cladding and batten systems can shape a refined, modern coastal façade. The upper level features DecoClad® Weatherboard in DecoCoat® White, delivering a crisp, low‑maintenance finish that contrasts beautifully with the home’s stone base. A second‑storey screen of DecoBatten® 50 × 75mm timber‑look battens adds warmth, rhythm, and privacy, while the DecoBatten® QuickClick® system wraps the curved garage door for a seamless, architectural look.
Located just metres from the ocean, the project highlights the durability and performance of DecoWood® Hampton Beech, chosen for its natural timber appearance and ability to withstand harsh coastal conditions. Positioned just moments from the coastline, HAAUS 6 is a masterclass in contemporary coastal architecture. Designed by SDC Building Design and curated by the team at HAAUS Interior Design, the home seamlessly balances refined architectural form with the relaxed lifestyle synonymous with Australia's beachfront living.
From the street, the residence presents a confident yet understated presence. Strong geometric forms are softened by gentle curves, while a carefully layered material palette creates warmth, texture and visual depth. The result is a home that feels both sophisticated and welcoming, establishing a new benchmark for modern coastal family living
Architecture That Blurs the Line Between Indoors and Out
A defining feature of HAAUS 6 is its commitment to indoor-outdoor connection. Open-plan living spaces extend effortlessly towards outdoor entertaining zones and the swimming pool, creating a natural flow between architecture and landscape. Throughout the home, natural textures, soft tones and curved architectural elements reinforce a sense of calm and relaxation.
The design embraces coastal living without relying on traditional beach-house clichés. Instead, the home adopts a contemporary architectural language, combining clean lines, sculptural forms and enduring materials to create a residence that is both timeless and highly functional.
A Façade Built on Contrast and Craftsmanship

The upper level is defined by crisp white aluminium weatherboard cladding, creating a sense of lightness that contrasts beautifully with the grounded solidity of the natural stone base. This layered composition establishes a strong architectural hierarchy while enhancing the home's coastal character.
Timber-Look Battens Create Warmth and Rhythm
While white cladding and stone establish the home's primary architectural framework, it is the timber-look aluminium battens that bring warmth, scale and visual rhythm to the design.
The second-storey screening element features DecoBatten® QuickClick® battens, introducing texture and depth while softening the home's contemporary geometry. The battens create a subtle interplay of shadow and light throughout the day, adding movement and dimension to the façade.
Designed for Coastal Conditions
The specification of DECO's aluminium systems allowed the design team to achieve the warmth and character of timber while ensuring long-term performance in a demanding marine environment. The DecoWood® Hampton Beech finish delivers an authentic timber aesthetic while providing resistance to moisture, warping, splitting and ongoing maintenance requirements associated with natural timber.
