Backyard Bliss

Backyard Bliss is an architectural family home and bespoke landscape nestled in the leafy suburb of Fendalton in Christchurch. Our clients had a connection with the land, the old family earthquake damaged house was cleared to make way for a new family home and well executed exterior to compliment the architecture and the site.

Our clients had a vision for a space that harmonized timeless elegance with family functionality where outdoor living and dining spaces merged into outdoor play spaces so the family could live, play, and entertain for future generations.

The stunning copper clad entry gate provides a taste of the quality and sense of space that lies beyond. The generous swimming pool and spa enclosure and mix of tiles, decking, concrete, glass, rendered block, and copper cladding materials all cohesively blended together, and alongside the cricket pitch sized lawn, both provide quality family outdoor spaces for play and fun.

The outdoor living areas were integrated into the architecture with the use of an automatic louvre roof and outdoor gas fireplace and seamless transition out to a level access timber deck. The result being a warm, cosy, and sheltered outdoor living space with outdoor kitchen bench/bar leaner, fridge and in-built BBQ for endless days of family cooking and entertaining.
