Cunningham Kitchen

The Brief: This kitchen was designed to complement a traditional country home, combining sophistication with practicality. The spacious layout connects seamlessly to the living area, featuring a well-proportioned central island with generous storage and casual dining for six. A functional scullery adjoins the space, housing additional appliances, food preparation zones, and ample storage for preserves. Positioned to capture the countryside views, the sinks complete this elegant and balanced design. The Result:  The finished kitchen beautifully reflects a traditional design aesthetic through its classic door style, refined detailing, and the inclusion of a centrally positioned Butler sink overlooking the farm. Balance and symmetry are achieved throughout, with the canopy extractor and oven creating a striking focal point. A tiled ledge and stepped-out feature behind the oven add subtle depth and visual interest. Glass-fronted cupboards frame the windows and are mirrored on the opposite wall, reinforcing continuity and harmony within the space. The large central island, crafted in dark-stained oak, anchors the kitchen while providing seating for six and ample crockery storage. Elegant yet understated detailing enhances the timeless appeal. Adjoining the main kitchen, the scullery delivers everyday functionality with a second sink, additional fridge, microwave, generous bench space, and practical storage — ensuring the kitchen remains both sophisticated and highly functional.
