Entertainer’s Dream

A Functional & Bold Kitchen

For this kitchen renovation in a modern architectural style home, the client sought something unique and welcomed creative ideas. The space, which included both the kitchen and scullery, featured timber flooring that was to remain. The challenge was to maintain a similar layout to the original kitchen while completely transforming its aesthetic from the previous black, white, and stainless-steel scheme.

The client wanted integrated appliances for a sleek, contemporary look and requested darker tones to introduce some drama. Our designer, Pieta, worked closely with the clients to find the perfect balance—incorporating dark, textural joinery, gold accents, and a bold benchtop. The combination of Nobilia’s ‘Stone Art’ in Slate Grey, Gold ‘LineN’ Handle Profiles, and Cosentino’s ‘Dekton Entzo' created a beautifully cohesive design.

One key request was to create a space suitable for entertaining, including dedicated wine storage. Pieta designed the island to offer seating on both the front and back for up to six people. A tall wine fridge was incorporated along with storage for glassware, spirits, and serve ware. This not only balanced the design with the integrated fridge and freezer at the opposite end of the kitchen but also created a spacious L-shaped work area ideal for meal preparation and cooking.

The upper cabinetry includes a mix of cupboards and floating shelves, complemented by inbuilt LED lighting to enhance both task lighting and the overall visual appeal. This combination provides practical illumination while maintaining the aesthetic.

The scullery was designed to maximise storage in a compact space, featuring a broom cupboard and a microwave positioned above the benchtop at an easily accessible height. To optimise storage efficiency, three types of pantry systems were included: shelving, pull-out drawers, and a pull-out larder unit. The use of a screw-on gold handle instead of a vertical channel in this area allowed for better space utilisation without compromising on style. Floating shelves with integrated LED lighting keep the scullery feeling light and airy.

Overall, the design successfully brings together striking aesthetics and functionality, creating an entertainer’s dream kitchen. The seamless flow between spaces is enhanced with integrated appliances, stone-look laminate joinery, and luxurious gold finishes. Ample storage, feature LED lighting, and well-lit work areas make this kitchen a perfect balance of beauty and practicality, ideal for both cooking and entertaining.
