The owners of this family home wanted to modernise and update their living spaces and change the dynamics of their home by moving their kids playroom upstairs and their bedroom downstairs. 

They were open to a complete new look throughout their home, including a new colour scheme, carpets and blinds. I wanted to give the living space a modern edge and was able to do this creating feature walls, new lighting and a complete change of colour scheme. The Harlequin Wallpaper set the scene, it is a modern stripe, with warm tones of grey, metalic silver and gold. I repeated the light grey stripe of the wallpaper for the living room walls using Resene Double White Pointer, carrying through to the kitchen and dining space, and choosing the dark grey stripe in the wallpaper, we used Resene Friar Grey to acentuate a curved wall. Luxurious new carpet, lighting,cushions and accessories in gold, white and aubergine compliment the new colour scheme and add warmth to the new modern space. 

The master bedroom was a complete overhaul of the kids playroom, gone are the green walls and all the stickers, instead we repeated the greys of the living area however this time we took a risk and chose a darker shade, Resene Half Friar Grey. The risk paid off, the room is stunning; it's modern in style yet the mood is initmate and relaxing perfect for a bedroom. The dark grey compliments the gorgeous colours in the new blinds which are repeated in the cushions and accessories. 

The warm grey colour scheme was carried through upstairs, using Resene White Pointer. The result is a fresh and modern space for the childrens bedrooms and playroom, to complete the look fun bright roman blinds were chosen to reflect the personality of each child.
