Gulf Harbour House
The Gulf Harbour house was designed in 2021 for a busy couple with a love of the ocean. The site is unusual - bounded on the east and south by the marina and a public walkway. SMA were commissioned to design a home that balances privacy with opening up to the views – and that blends toughness, beauty and practicality.
We selected materials that stand up well to the high winds and salt deposits of the area. A warm colour palette helped root the house and provides a pleasant foil against the colder grey blues of the surrounding water, sky and boats.
We successfully coordinated our design alongside a great team on this project, including landscapers, AC specialists, façade specialists, engineering and interior designers.
