The brief from the clients was to create a tropical resort-like feel to remind them of their much loved holidays in the pacific island’s. Light and bright, this home focuses on entertaining, creating a place for them to feel as if they are on holiday even when at home. This plays out in 3 zones connected through boardwalk-like transitional spaces that lead its occupants from communal to private areas. At the centre of this home is the entry, kitchen and main living rooms which open to a large covered alfresco area overlooking the pool. The 4.7m stud fills the room with light through high level glazing. The large master bedroom is 100% a retreat space for a busy Mum and Dad that features a “Bali style” en-suite, containing an oversized shower that looks out onto its own zen garden courtyard.

About the
Professional

There is something satisfying about a thing that is well made and well designed. We set out in 2008 looking to raise the standard of design in our local built environment. Since then we have worked in some incredible locations to create buildings that reflect the character of the people who live in them and place in which they live. We design with sensitivity to the physical and cultural context of the site, using natural materials and finishes where possible with a focus on robust and elegant detailing. We have a tight knit team of skilled architectural designers and technicians to handle new residential and commercial projects, alterations and additions of any complexity.
