L'Oréal New Distribution Centre is a large-scale logistics and warehousing facility designed to support the future growth of one of the world's leading beauty brands. Delivered by Waide Commercial Construction in South Auckland, the project combines high-performance industrial functionality with an ambitious sustainability agenda, creating a facility built for long-term operational efficiency. Developed for L'Oréal and the James Kirkpatrick Group, the distribution centre was designed to streamline storage, distribution and supply chain operations while providing the flexibility required to support future growth. Expansive warehouse spaces, integrated logistics infrastructure and carefully planned operational zones work together to create a highly efficient working environment. A key feature of the project was its focus on sustainability. Rather than starting from scratch, the development incorporated the adaptive reuse and refurbishment of an existing structure, significantly reducing embodied carbon while extending the life of the building. The project went on to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Design certification, setting a new benchmark for sustainable industrial development in New Zealand. For Waide, the project required the coordination of complex warehouse systems, services infrastructure and sustainability outcomes, ensuring the facility performed to the highest operational and environmental standards. Every aspect of the build was carefully considered to support both day-to-day logistics and long-term resilience.
