Situated in the coastal suburb of Mairangi Bay, this Auckland beachfront home has coastal views of Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf.

The brief was to renovate the 1970’s home to create easy apartment living for the residing couple without compromising accommodation for guests.

Spread over one level, the apartment style renovation incorporates a ‘Hamptons’ feel. The reconfigured layout makes the most of the dramatic coastal views, turning what was considered a winter home into a summer beach apartment.

The floor plan consists of an open plan kitchen, dining and living area orientated towards the coastal view and to take advantage of all day sun.

The master bedroom with its ensuite and walk in wardrobe divided off from the main living by sliding timber louvre screens carries on the Hamptons apartment theme. Upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms now become a separate guest wing.

Our Philosophy

We believe that our fresh approach to design, and our ability to remain pragmatic during all aspects of a project differentiates us from our competitors. This synergy makes us an attractive proposition to build not only great buildings, but also great relationships with our clients and our industry partners.

We foster autonomy within our practice, while we work in a team environment we encourage and empower individuals within the team. Everyone within our team has something to contribute, providing a culture that values openness and critical thinking.

This ensures that we have a more innovative and robust design process.

With the right team, not only is anything possible, but more importantly, the journey from inception to execution is hugely enjoyable.
