Motion Sickness Studio: A creative headquarters blending soft blues, brushed steel, and vintage pinks, designed in collaboration with Wonder Group to foster a warm, unpolished environment that reflects the agency's innovative spirit and pays homage to the 70s ad world.
Motion Sickness Studio is designed to feel like home for a team with ideas that break the mold.
After a few years on the rise, Motion Sickness has carved out a spot on the creative scene, quickly becoming the agency everyone’s keeping an eye on.
In close collaboration with Wonder Group, they’ve crafted an HQ that’s warm, unpolished, and unmistakably theirs.
Soft blues, brushed steel, and vintage pinks blend with open areas, work pods, and a dedicated space for local artists. It’s full of character—bringing a nod to the 70s ad world in a fresh, forward-thinking way

“We went from a flat in Dunedin, to a villa in Mount Eden, to a loft in Newmarket, then to a studio on Cross Street.
To be honest, I never imagined we would be in a dream space like this. If things went well, I thought we might get a few more trestle tables. So it’s pretty special—it’s more than just a building; it’s an embodiment of what we’ve all built and what I believe we can continue to do.
Within these walls, I hope some of the most iconic ideas of our time are born, and the careers of those who pass through the doors are made.
It’s our special place in the sun.”
Sam Stutchbury, Founder
We set out to craft unique microcosms for lounging, collaboration, and creativity.
The old is layered against the new, with key pieces specially designed for the team at Motion Sickness.
Effortless yet character-full, the space most importantly reflects the fluid and unconventional nature of Motion Sickness’ incredible work.
Think 70s Los Angeles with a modern twist: pink glass, powder-blue carpet, and open space that gives you room to breathe.
We didn’t want bland; we wanted a place with character, where creativity feels natural.
It’s somewhere you’d rather be working than working-from-home.
The Motion Sickness HQ needed to do more than house a team — it had to capture their spirit.
Motion Sickness is built by and for a new generation, approaching things differently from your typical workspace.
The once ‘gallery-white’ building is now a blend of playful and polished, setting a standard for what a workspace can be.
