As part of a larger master plan for the coastal subdivision in Wellington’s Seatoun, Tennent Brown was commissioned to design the detached houses. The seaside location inspired the architects to arrange the two rows of houses offset from each other so every house had sea views. The two-storey houses were designed to be comfortable and well proportioned family homes, making the most of the site. Two of the houses at the beginning of the street were augmented with small tower elements to create a gateway-like welcome to the street and visually anchor the houses to the place.
