School Rd house, known as ‘Skyfall’, is nestled in the rural setting of Waimauku, West Auckland, showcasing a thoughtful blend of contemporary design within a natural environment. Designed by Wingate Architects, this 3-bedroom home was developed to integrate modern architectural elements into its rural surroundings.
PJM Project Management oversaw the project, providing procurement, contract administration, and construction observation services. Our involvement ensured the project remained within budget and on schedule, while delivering the client’s vision for a modern countryside home.
The design brief called for a spacious, modern layout that respected its rural context. The architects created a spatial flow that extends onto the deck and surrounding land. Large windows picture-frame the landscape and views of the surrounding farmland and Muriwai Beach.
The home features high-quality fixtures and clever storage solutions to ensure both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The open-plan living area fosters a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, with the kitchen serving as both a social hub and a practical workspace. The house includes a mancave media room, offering flexibility by functioning as a theatre, office, or extra living space. Bathrooms feature minimalist designs with high-grade fixtures.
Skyfall house exemplifies how thoughtful design and careful project management can create a modern residence that blends seamlessly with its environment.
The successful collaboration between the architect and project managers ensured the client's needs for both aesthetic and sustainable design, and successful project delivery, were achieved.
