Bold by design and warm by nature, this sun-drenched residence pairs sculptural architecture with the maximalist confidence of Iver’s Puerto collection.
Organic Details
There is an ease to this interior that takes real effort to achieve. The kitchen reads as a single cohesive gesture, with terracotta plaster walls, a curving marble island, bleached oak cabinetry and terracotta floor tiles washed in afternoon light. Arched openings frame glimpses of lush greenery beyond, while turned timber stools introduce an organic, sculptural rhythm that quietly sets the tone for the home.
Hardware has rarely felt more considered. Iver’s Puerto collection runs throughout, its pill-shaped forms and solid brass construction threading a deliberate design language from kitchen to bedroom, and every threshold in between. Conceived as a complete Whole-of-Home collection, Puerto was the natural choice for a project that prizes material warmth and architectural confidence in equal measure. Drawing on the expressive curves of coastal architecture from Puerto Escondido in Mexico and the playful confidence of 1970s design, the collection elevates hardware from a finishing touch to a defining architectural element.
A Unified Language
In the kitchen, rounded cabinet doors in a soft clay finish carry the Puerto Cupboard Knob across every drawer face. Spherical and smooth, each knob brings a quiet, tactile punctuation to the joinery, its solid brass form picking up the warmth of the marble bench above, where pale stone and amber veining reward close attention. Repeated across a full run of cabinetry, the knobs lend the space a settled cadence, each one a small deliberate gesture within a larger composition.
The Puerto Cabinet Pull takes a different approach entirely. Its tubular handle, set between two rounded supports, draws the eye along a vertical axis, a considered counterpoint to the horizontal sweep of cabinetry beside it. Against the pale timber grain, the Brushed Gold PVD finish carries an understated richness that feels entirely resolved, balancing strength with softness in a single silhouette.
Bold in Design
Through an open doorway, a bedroom of deep terracotta, forest linen and layered paper pendants offers an invitation to stillness. At the door’s edge, the Puerto Lever on Round Rose appears unhurried and assured, its rounded pill profile and generous proportions making a quiet case for hardware as architecture. Designed to be both seen and felt, it is precisely the kind of detail that rewards the person who pauses to notice it.
Throughout this home, the Puerto collection achieves what the best Whole-of-Home hardware should: it recedes into the interior until the moment it doesn’t. Each piece speaks the same formal language, generous scale, softened geometry, the particular warmth of solid brass, allowing the design to read as unified from room to room, and surface to surface.
