The client’s bathroom showed clear signs of aging, particularly evident in the worn-out vanity panels and outdated shower design. Terry expressed a desire for a more spacious and contemporary bathroom.

To modernize the overall look, we proposed the use of full tiles, offering a sleek and contemporary style that would transform the bathroom’s appearance. Terry sought a more efficient toilet system, which we integrated into our renovation plans to enhance the bathroom’s performance and convenience.

Addressing the issue of inadequate ventilation, we recommended the installation of a robust ventilation system to effectively remove excess moisture from the wet areas, promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.

Taking into account the initial condition of the bathroom and the client’s specific requirements, our renovation project was tailored to address these concerns while delivering a functional and visually appealing space that perfectly aligned with Terry’s needs and preferences.

Overall look & feel

The renovated bathroom exuded a refined elegance and timeless sophistication, achieved through meticulous attention to detail. Our design approach focused on striking a balance between practical and visually stunning.

Storage optimisation was a key consideration in the renovation, with carefully chosen elements not only offered ample storage solutions but also exuded an inviting and luxurious ambiance.

By thoughtfully selecting fixtures, fittings, and appliances, we were able to seamlessly blend style, practicality, and luxury in the renovated bathroom. Each element harmonised with the overall design scheme, enhancing the space’s aesthetic appeal while ensuring optimal functionality for everyday use.

Materials

In the shower area, safety and style were seamlessly integrated with the installation of a 10mm thick tempered retaining glass for the pull-out door. This premium glass not only ensured durability but also added a sleek and contemporary touch to the space. With a generous size of 1m x 1m, the shower area provided ample room for a comfortable showering experience.

Efficient drainage was guaranteed with the incorporation of the AllProof shower drain system from Reece Plumbing. Designed to effectively collect and remove water, this system prevents any potential accumulation, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. Additionally, Technokolla waterproofing products were applied to create a robust and water-resistant foundation, safeguarding against moisture damage and ensuring long-lasting performance.

The walls featured a captivating juxtaposition of light and dark tones in marble looking to achieved with Marmo 300 X 600 wall tiles from Tile Depot. These tiles boasted a distinctive stone-like character with a soft linear grain, adding depth and visual intrigue to the space. With an R10 anti-slip rating, they not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal but also prioritized safety.

For the bathroom floor, Cashmere Oyster Micorotee 600 X 600 tiles from Tile Depot were selected to create a luxurious and indulgent atmosphere. Their smooth polished finish exuded sophistication, elevating the overall ambiance of the space.

Bathroom Vanity & Storage

To optimise storage space, we integrated a 900mm freestanding vanity into the design, opting for the stylish Nora Oak model from Renoarts. This vanity not only offered ample storage but also added a touch of sophistication to the space. With its three drawers and cabinet below, it promoted efficient organization and accessibility, ensuring a clutter-free environment. The Nora Oak vanity blended seamlessly with the overall aesthetic, radiating elegance and modernity.

For added luxury and practicality, we installed the Heirloom, an 800mm x 600mm heated towel rail. 

To elevate the ambiance and functionality of the bathroom further, we incorporated the Broadway LED mirror, spanning 900mm. Its auto-demist function ensured a clear reflection even in steamy conditions, enhancing convenience and usability.

Bathroom Fittings & Fixtures

We meticulously curated each element to ensure a harmonious blend of style, functionality, and convenience.

To infuse the bathroom with a warm and inviting ambiance, we integrated Phillip LED energy-efficient downlights. 

To achieve a clean and sophisticated backdrop, we opted for Resene Alabaster interior painting. This versatile shade served as the perfect canvas, adding a touch of elegance while allowing the architectural features and fittings to shine.

The tapware selection from the Engelfield Duo II series was chosen for its impeccable craftsmanship and timeless design. 

In prioritising hygiene and ease of maintenance, we selected the Engelfield Evora II back-to-wall Rimless toilet from Reece. This innovative design streamlined the cleaning process and also ensured a more hygienic experience for users.

To enhance comfort and convenience, the bathroom featured a multifunctional 3-in-1 heater that combined lighting, heating, and ventilation functionalities. On top of that, an independent extract fan was installed to meet ventilation requirements, catering to both residential and potential rental needs with efficiency and effectiveness.
