The Grange

Nestled in the serene landscape of East Taieri near Mosgiel, The Grange is one of New Zealand’s premier lifecare villages, offering high-quality amenities in a setting designed for both comfort and community. 

DSGNR, led by Creative Director Stephanie Allen-Jeffrey, was engaged by the owners to deliver an interior design vision that balances a sense of calm luxury with everyday practicality. Stephanie has worked closely with the project architects and development team to create a cohesive and enduring aesthetic that supports the wellbeing of residents and enhances the visitor experience.

The project encompasses a wide range of communal and functional spaces, including reception areas, private and community lounges, dining spaces, a café, salon, spa, gym, cinema, and library. With an emphasis on detail and quality, the design includes materials, colours, finishes and fittings, custom-designed dining and furniture, carefully curated lounge spaces, art selection and soft furnishings that ground each space with warmth and texture. 

Window treatments—ranging from automated blinds, bespoke curtains and shutters—have been chosen for both performance and visual appeal. Feature lighting and wall coverings sourced from exclusive international suppliers add moments of visual richness throughout the interior landscape.

Stephanie’s approach brings together a refined understanding of materiality, colour, and spatial flow to ensure each space within The Grange is not only beautiful, but also highly functional. Her client-focused process has been instrumental in translating the aspirations of The Grange’s owners into interiors that support community enjoyment, and ease.
